Nikole Dowler CPT, 300 hour Balanced Body Bridge Program Certification, PMA Approved (2014); 300 hour PhysicalMind Institute Full Pilates Certification (2001): 200 hour YogaMaze Teacher Certification (2016); California Teaching Credential in Dance; BalleCore Barre certified 2004. Nikole received full certifications including completion of practical and written exams. She has taught Pilates on the Central Coast since 2001.
Her movement journey began growing up in Miami, FL where she trained with a variety of world class instructors including those from New World School of the Arts, Milwaukee Ballet, Joffrey Ballet, San Francisco Ballet, and Miami City Ballet. She taught dance in both the public and private sectors for nearly 20 years before opening BALANCE-a Pilates studio in 2004.
Nikole completed her first Pilates certification in 2001 through the PhysicalMind Institute. This certification included Matwork and Apparatus and a year long apprentice program as well as a written and practical examination of the Classical repetoire. She completed her second certification through Balanced Body University's Bridge program in both Matwork and Pilates Reformer completing her written and practical examination with Tom McCook . She has been certified in Ballecore since 2004. Ballecore combines Pilates/Ballet/Yoga.
She attended Florida State University where she received her teaching credential in English and Dance Education and taught dance in both public schools and private studios. Her continuing education includes courses from instructors Tom McCook, Elizabeth Larkam, Brent Anderson, The Pilates Center at Boulder, Jillian Hessel, Lolita San Miguel, Madeline Black amongst numerous others.
She completed her 200 hour Yoga Teaching Certification through Yogamaze and studying under Rocky Heron in 2016 and is Registered Yoga Instructor through Yoga Alliance.
Her love of movement inspires her classes where she focuses on challenging the core, building strength and improving alignment as well as gaining greater flexibility and balance. She aspires to teach students to "know their bodies better" by working from the inside out.
In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her husband, two boys, and their dog Louie.
